What is a Home Inspection:

A home inspection is a thorough non-invasive, visual examination of a residential dwelling which is designed to identify observed material defects within specific components of said dwelling. Components may include any combination of mechanical, structural, electrical, plumbing, or other essential systems or portions of the home, as identified and agreed to by the Client and Inspector, prior to the inspection process.

The following systems and components are part of the inspection:

  • Exterior and drainage
  • Structure
  • Roof and Chimneys
  • Doors and Windows
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Heating and Cooling
  • Attic and Insulation
  • Interior

Our inspectors use an array of tools to check for high-humidity levels and gas leaks. We also employ, as an option, Infra-red thermal imaging, as needed, to assist in determining leaks at the time of the inspection and to determine possible insulation deficiencies.

Our clients are always encouraged to attend the home inspection. We can also provide you with tools for you to accurately measure the room sizes during the inspection. A typical home inspection will take 2-4 hours to conduct, depending on the size and condition of the home and the questions our clients may have. A home inspection provides an excellent source of education on home ownership and home maintenance and we love to answer questions. All our reports include digital photos  – Not only about possible concerns but also of various key components and systems and the inspection report link is usually provided within 24 hours of the completion of the onsite visit – Additional services may increase the report completion time.

All inspection services include follow-up support by email for a period of 12 months. Additional support is also available as a fee based service.
